This year’s South Africa Freedom Day Open Golf Championship will tee-off at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, on Saturday, April 25.
About 100 golfers are expected to participate in the competition which is being organized by the Celebrity Golf Club in collaboration with South African High Commission and Global Media Alliance.
Frank Akwasi Poku, Captain of Celebrity Golf Club who disclosed this at Tema on Tuesday, said the aim of the competition, themed “Africa—One People One Destiny” was to show love and compassion to Africans that”we all are one people.”
Golfers from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Algeria are expected to participate.
He named some of the golfers expected to participate in the competition for Ghana as Emile Short, Kusi Boateng, Issa Adams, Oswald Amuzu Abed Botchwey and Bentu Williams.
Madam Jeanette Ndlovu, South African High Commissioner to Ghana as well as other High Commissioners from other African countries are expected to grace the occasion.
