A High-Powered investment delegation from France who are in the country to explore business opportunities, called on the President, John Mahama yesterday. The delegation, which is made up of leading members of the movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF), would seek partnership with the Ghanaian businesses in the various sectors of the economy.
Interacting with delegation, which was led By Chairman of MEDEF, Patrick Lucas, at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama asked the investors to focus more on the areas of energy production, agro processing and infrastructure development.
“We have various sectors open for investment,” he told them, adding that the government was pursuing strategic investments to develop the critical sectors of the economy.
He also informed the delegation that the government was focusing on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements for the infrastructure development in expanding facilities such as the sea and airports, highways and railways to drive the nation’s economy.
“We believe we can collaborate with MEDEF in that regard since it has a lot of experience in PPP,’ he said.
Mr Lucas, in his remarks, noted that the group had a lot of confidence in Ghana’s prospects, saying “we have keenly followed Ghana’s progress”.
He cited some good conditions in the country such as congenial business atmosphere, peace and stability and high economic opportunities, which he said would attract the attention of foreign investors.
“We know a lot of things about Ghana, and we are here to prospect and partner you for economic growth,” he told President Mahama.
