The Ghana government has secured a $48-million loan from the World Bank to connect communities within the Adentan-Madina area to the main lines of Ghana Water Company.
Mr Sampson Ahi, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing said communities, including Ashaley Botwe, Nmaadjor, American, House, Adjiringano and Madina should expect water running through their pipes within two weeks.
“Contractors have been given two weeks to complete works and no excuses will be allowed,” he said.
Mr Ahi, who visited some of the communities to inspect ongoing works, said PVC pipes have been procured by the Ministry for the work.
He said people usually complain of lack of running water in the taps because they are unconnected to the main lines of the Company.
Mr Ahi said the people of Adenta Municipality have had prolonged problems with water and this is the time for government to permanently deal with it.
