The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall arrive in Accra today for a four-day Royal visit.
A statement issued by the British High Commission in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the visit would celebrate the shared values and culture between the two nations.
It is going to highlight the significant ties between the people of the United Kingdom and Ghana, alongside Ghanaians and members of the Diaspora, on both sides – who embody this contemporary, dynamic partnership.
Mr Iain Walker, the British High Commissioner would be hosting a special reception to celebrate the visit to mark the Prince’s 70th Birthday, ahead of the official celebrations in the UK on 14 November.
The statement said many specially invited guests who shared the same birthday as Prince Charles, would attend the event.
“They will be joined by members of the British-Ghanaian Diaspora, members of the UK community in Ghana, and Ghanaians from all walks of life, who share a close connection with the UK,” it added.
“This event will be a celebration of our shared culture, notably a shared love of Ghanaian music.”
It would feature musicians who had helped to define Ghana’s music scene, from highlife to hip-life, playing classic and contemporary music – the favourite of Royals.
