My One Year In Ghana Has Been Great Pleasure – Canadian High Commissioner

Madam Kati Csaba – Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana

Madam Kati Csaba, the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, has described her one year in Ghana as “great pleasure”.

“So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay, especially working with the everyday Ghanaian, officials and business people. I am very impressed with the dedication and seriousness people attach to the work they do to better their lives and the nation,” she said.

“The show of love by people in every part of the country including the markets is also very special to me.”

Madam Csaba, who was sharing the experience of her first year of stay and working in Ghana, with the Ghana News Agency, mentioned that it had been a positive feeling.

“One of the special moments has been traveling to the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi and being warmly welcomed by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,” she recalled.

On her low points, the High Commissioner noted that the pandemic had had serious implications for the people of Ghana and that some things were difficult to see and understand, especially how much people had been affected.

The High Commissioner also said the restrictions occasioned by the new normal of COVID-19, limited to some extent, the opportunities for her to perform some of her functions and prevented her from traveling to many parts of the country.

“Sadly, we ourselves had some travel limitations and could not go out as I would love to.”

She said COVID-19 had a huge socio-economic impact on Ghana just as it had had on the rest of the world and that Canada’s biggest focus was on supporting Ghana towards inclusive recovery through a number of projects.
