Mahama Holds Bilateral Talks With Sierra Leone’s President Bio on Trade And Development

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Sierra Leone for an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two West African nations.

The visit is expected to deepen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, and regional affairs.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President Mahama, confirmed the visit in a Facebook post on March 18, 2025, stating that discussions between the two leaders would cover areas of mutual interest, including economic partnerships, social infrastructure, and regional collaboration.

Ghana and Sierra Leone have a longstanding relationship, defined by mutual support in times of crisis and joint development efforts.

In January 2025, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone attended President Mahama’s inauguration in Accra, reinforcing the strong ties between the two countries.

President Mahama’s visit is expected to build on this relationship, promoting economic growth and stability in the region.
