Ghana – South Africa Business Chamber Condemns Attacks

Ghana-and-South-AfricanGhana-South Africa Business Chamber (GSABC) has appealed to South Africans to help solve the recent xenophobic attacks.

The GSABC said it would stand by all the right-thinking South Africans to condemn the ignorant actions of a minority as others seek to uphold the human rights of all who live in the Rainbow Nation.

The statement issued in Accra by GSABC and copied to the Ghana News Agency said during the apartheid years, countries such as Ghana hosted citizens who left South Africa as they sought strategic partners in the struggle against apartheid.

It said since 1994, Ghana has done its part in ensuring that South Africa becomes a major player in Africa and globally.

The statement said exports from South Africa have greatly increased because of the acceptance of South Africa as a trading partner with other African countries and thus created an expanded market.

“We would not retaliate by asking South Africans here to leave, rather we welcome them to invest, reside, train, and learn so that our continent would grow,” the statement said.
