US Institution To Support Health Science Education

GraduationThe Accra-based Martin Luther Health School and Brookdale Community College of New Jersey of the United States, have signed a 10-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) to improve the quality of health science education in Ghana.

The three-phased training partnership arrangement involves curriculum development in radiography, public and environmental health, respiratory care and health information technology.

Added to these are exchange programmes among students and faculty, sharing of teaching materials, development of collaborative research projects, joint scientific and academic sessions, supply of teaching and laboratory items and exchange of publications.

This would be coordinated by Dr Owusu Achaw Duah, Executive Director of the Martin Luther School and Professor Terry Kohn of the Brookdale College.

A release signed by Dr Duah, and copied to Ghana News Agency, said the implementation of the MOU has started with books and equipment donation by the US health training institution.

The Americans have also volunteered to assist in the development of curriculum and it underlines the determination of the pair to work towards long term sustainable relationship to the mutual benefit of the two nations.
