Germany Expresses Interest In Decentralisation Policy

Ghana-&-GermanyMrs Zoe Nautre, First Secretary at the German Embassy says her country is interested in Ghana’s decentralisation policy.

She said Germany was also interested in Ghana’s agricultural and energy sectors, as well as the sustainable economic development and the adaptation of climate change programmes.

Mrs Nautre , was speaking during her interaction with Dr Mohammed Musheibu Alfa, Deputy Upper West Regional Minister in Wa.

She said she was in the region to find out from stakeholders how the decentralisation policy was working in the districts.

Dr Hartmut Krebs, Head of Programme, German Development Cooperation Support for Decentralisation Reform, said Germany was supporting 40 districts in implementing the decentralisation policy reforms.

He said German Development Cooperation, was to support Ghanaian graduates and experts who attended universities in Germany to be efficient and effective at workplaces.

Dr Krebs said under the Centre for International Migration and Development and World University Service, some equipment was provided to graduates who were willing to come back to Ghana and serve the people.

The equipment provided would become the property of the institutions where the graduates and experts work after two years period.
