Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is in Ghana on a joint promotional trip with the Swedish Minister for Trade, Ewa Björling.
The visit aims to deepen bilateral relations and to increase trade partnerships between both countries.
On the first day of her visit, Princess Victoria met with President John Mahama to discuss possible Ghana-Sweden trade cooperation with special focus on youth entrepreneurship.
Princess Victoria also held a round table meeting with Swedish business firms in Ghana, after which she was given a tour around the Akosombo Dam by the President of Ghana.
As part of her visit, Princess Victoria would visit the Viasat 1 Television Station and attend a business dinner, where she would interact with Ministers of State and representatives of charity organizations in Ghana.
The Swedish Royal will also take part in a special tree-planting exercise to commemorate her 3-day visit in the country.
Princess Victoria has made many official trips abroad as a representative of Sweden. Her first major official visit on her own was to Japan in 2001, where she promoted Swedish tourism, design, music, gastronomy and environmental sustainability during the “Swedish Style” event.
Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée was born on the 14th July, 1977. She was made Crown Princess and heir apparent on 1st January, 1980 by the 1979 change to the Act of Succession of 1810, where she adopted the royal name Victoria, Duchess of Västergötland, Crown Princess of Sweden.
Princess Victoria is married to Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland. They have two daughters Karolinska and Estelle.
If she ascends to the throne as expected, she will be Sweden’s fourth queen regnant after Margaret, Christina and Ulrika Eleonora and the first since 1720.
Her Royal Highness would depart to Tanzania tomorrow, as she continues her first long trip after the birth of her daughter, Estelle.
