A delegation from the All Africa Students Union (AASU) has paid a courtesy call on the Embassy of Ghana in Ethiopia during its participation in the Innovating Education in Africa 2026 forum, reaffirming the role of African youth leadership in advancing education and innovation across the continent.
The delegation, led by AASU Deputy Chief Operating Officer Samuel Sasu Adonteng, visited the Ghana Embassy in Addis Ababa while attending the Innovating Education in Africa 2026 event at the African Union Headquarters.
The development was announced by the Embassy of Ghana to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on its official social media platforms.
The visit comes as African governments, educational institutions and youth organisations continue to prioritise innovation and digital transformation as key drivers of quality education.
Organised under the auspices of the African Union, the Innovating Education in Africa initiative provides a continental platform for showcasing innovative education solutions, promoting digital learning and advancing the African Union’s vision of building resilient and inclusive education systems capable of preparing young people for the future.
The All Africa Students Union (AASU) is a continental student organisation that represents students across Africa and advocates for quality education, youth empowerment, academic cooperation and the active participation of young people in Africa’s development agenda.
Through engagement with governments, regional institutions and development partners, the Union seeks to strengthen the voice of African students on issues affecting education and sustainable development.
Receiving the delegation, Ghana’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. McArios Akanbeanab Akanbong, commended the Union’s innovative leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing education and youth development across Africa.
He further encouraged the delegation to uphold the values of leadership, integrity and service, urging them to become worthy ambassadors of positive change as they contribute to shaping the future of education on the continent.
The engagement reflects Ghana’s continued support for youth-led initiatives and highlights the important role of students and young leaders in promoting innovation, regional cooperation and sustainable development across Africa.
