German government provides logistical support to GIS to improve operational efficiency

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has received essential operational working equipment from the German Government worth one million seven hundred and seventy -four thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 1,774,000) in Accra.
The items donated included; a 16-seater Foton View CS2 bus, Laptops, Tablets, Printers, Helmets and Bulletproof vests aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and officers’ safety.

Receiving the items, the Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), Mr. Samuel Basintale Amadu, expressed the Service’s appreciation to the German Government for its continuous support in strengthening Ghana’s border security especially the Northern frontier identified as volatile.

He emphasized the long-standing partnership between the two institutions and stated that the donation would significantly improve operational efficiency and enhance the quality of service delivery.
The ICG assured the German Embassy that the items would augment the execution of the Service’s mandate to a larger extent.

Mr. Holger Grossman, the German Defense Attaché to Ghana who led a four-member delegation to the GIS Headquarters reiterated that the German government took security seriously and was delighted to support the GIS in its mandate to enhance border security and facilitate safe migration.

He explained that the donation reflected their confidence in the GIS and their continuous efforts in capacity building initiatives.
“Germany is proud to stand with Ghana in building safe, secure, and well-managed borders. We look forward to stronger cooperation and shared efforts in the subsequent years” he added.

The Comptroller General received the items in the presence of some Management members including; the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG), Command Post and Operations, Mr. Laud O. Affrifah, DCG/Legal, Research and Monitoring, Mr. Philip Peter Andoh, Deputy Commissioner of Immigration, Public Affairs Department, Maud Anima Quainoo, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration, Chief Staff Officer, Mr. Gordon Saah, among others.
