Ghana-Germany trade volumes hit €744.7 million in 2025

Trade relations between Ghana and Germany recorded significant growth in 2025, with total trade between the two countries rising by nearly 19 percent to a record €744.7 million, reflecting deepening economic and commercial cooperation.

The latest figures were recently shared by the Embassy of Germany in Ghana, which highlighted the steady expansion of bilateral trade and the increasing balance in exports between both countries.

The development comes amid growing efforts by Ghana and Germany to strengthen economic diplomacy, industrial cooperation and investment partnerships, particularly in areas such as agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, trade facilitation and industrial transformation. Germany remains one of Ghana’s key European trading partners and development allies, with longstanding cooperation in infrastructure, vocational training and sustainable economic development.

According to the figures released, German exports to Ghana experienced strong growth, driven largely by increased demand for agricultural technology, machinery, vehicles and industrial goods.

At the same time, Ghanaian exports to Germany also continued to rise steadily, with agricultural produce, raw materials and processed food products playing a major role in bilateral trade flows.

One of the key highlights of the latest trade performance is the near balance in trade between both countries, a development viewed as a positive indicator of strengthening economic relations and expanding market opportunities for businesses on both sides.

The German Embassy noted that the growing trade volumes reflect increasingly strong commercial ties between Ghana and Germany, while also creating new opportunities for investment, industrial collaboration and private sector growth.

The latest trade growth further underscores Ghana’s strategic importance within West Africa’s economic landscape and Germany’s continued interest in expanding its footprint in African markets through mutually beneficial partnerships.
