Ghana Israel parliamentary friendship association inaugurated

Ghana-IsraelThe Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho, yesterday inaugurated the Ghana- Israel Parliamentary Friendship Association with a call on members to help strengthen the relationship between the two Parliaments.

The purpose of the association is to enhance parliamentary diplomacy between the two countries and deepen their connection and create a new dialogue that would enrich the relations between the two countries.

Hon. Doe Adjaho appealed to secretariat of the association to fashion a way of taping the technical know-how of all past members of parliament.

He urged them to build a strong association in order to have a positive impact on the two parliaments and learn best practices from each other.

The ambassador of the state of Israel, H.E Sharon Bar-li, in a speech read on behalf of the deputy speaker of parliament of Israel, Hon. PninaTamanu -Shata, said the establishment of the friendship association was yet another expression of the excellent ties and cordial bilateral relations that existed between the two countries.

He said the newly established friendship association would have a key role in strengthening even further the relations between the two countries and parliaments.

According to him, “by establishing the association you are conveying today a message of peace and friendship, dialogue and acceptance.”

He assured that the Israel embassy under his leadership would do its utmost best to support the association and urged MPs to lead by example.
