Business leaders, development partners, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.

This year, the spotlight has been on Ghana, a UK bilateral trade, and investment, relationship which has sent a strong signal. to potential investors on investment opportunities between the two countries.

The climax of these events was the Ghana UK Investment Summit held in June, which attracted high level representation, including the participation of His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, the president of the Republic of Ghana.

On behalf of his Excellency, the President, I welcome all our invited guests. Our partners, speakers, and panelists, and above all, the investors to this Roadshow. Distinguished, ladies and gentlemen, today, I have chosen to begin my address with numbers, because numbers do tell a story. In 2024, Ghana attracted $652 million foreign direct investments.

In 2025, that figure hit $2.62 billion, a fulfilled increase in just one year. And here is a headline within the headline. Manufacturing recorded the highest number of new investment projects of any sector in this country last year, with 99 projects more than mining, more than oil, and gas, a more than general trade.

The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority, between 2025 and 2026, registered 11 new UK companies. With total investments amounting to $7.05 million. A positive signal that invests our footing with their capital and have responded positively to the president’s call that Ghana is ready for business.

Distinguished, ladies and gentlemen, I’m particularly happy that the FCDO, British High Commission in Ghana, the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, and other partners have initiated a Roadshow as part of the African Financial Services Investments Conference. 2026.

One of the leading African investment events for networking and connecting with Africa’s top investors. The roadshow is taking place at the time that the global trade investment is going through major shifts, affecting supply chase, logistics, and production.

It is, therefore, on this premise, that I see the theme for this roadshow, “From confidence to capital: unlocking the next wave of growth through strategic investments, leveraging the UK Ghana growth partnership” Very apt and timely.

The theme is evident in our trade and investment ties. Trade between our two countries is wet about £1.6 billion pounds a year. UK investors have placed £ 1.8 billion into Ghana, across more than 670 projects, creating over 44,000 jobs.

In June, Ghana and the UK signed a growth partnership agreement for 2026 to 2028 backed by deals with up to £ 250 million. They include £101 million investments in the Takoradi Floating Dock. The first commercial scale, ship repair, and dry docking facility in the Gulf of Guinea, creating up to 430 direct jobs.

They also include an £85 million reinforceation fund, and at £6 million pounds, support Ghana’s AI strategy. Ghana’s economic turnaround, within 18 months, has become a global reference point. With inflation dropping form, 23.8% in 2024 to 5.2%. After the end of September 2026. The economic grow, 6%, in 2025, and 6.4% in the first quarter of the CA 2026.

In the first half of 2026, all three major international credit ratings agencies, that is, S&P Global Ratings, Moody’s Ratings, and Fitch Ratings, reviewed Ghana’s sovereign credit to worthiness, and all three delivered positive assessments. Distinguish, ladies and gentlemen.

I wish to emphasize that capital needs a country. where rules hold and contracts are respected. And Ghana has demonstrated its democratic record with peaceful transfers of power to assure investors something money cannot easily buy predictability.

We pride ourselves as a center of the world. Gateway to West Africa, and host to the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade area, market of 1.4 billion people.

For UK firms, our trade partnership agreements with the United Kingdom, whose preferential access in both directions. Ghana’s investment laws allows 100% foreign ownership, and our free zones offered duty free trade, and a ten year corporate tax holiday.

We are also transforming how our economy operates at every hour of day. We have launched a 24-hour economy, program to maximize every hour of productivity, capacity in our nation to ensure the productive utilization of Ghana’s infrastructure, human capital, and natural resources around the deck.

Distinguished, ladies and gentlemen, under the leadership of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, reforms are in place, and opportunities are real. In agribusiness and value addition, energy, and a green transition, infrastructure, mining, and critical minerals, the digital economy, tourism, and the creative industries.
