Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel has achieved “historic accomplishments” in its ongoing military campaign against Iran and allied groups across the Middle East, while cautioning that operations are not yet over.
“Dear citizens of Israel, my brothers and sisters, the campaign is not yet over, but even now it can be clearly stated – we have achieved historic accomplishments.” he stated
In a recently televised address,the Israeli leader outlined what he described as significant military and strategic gains against Iran and its regional network, including Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and other allied forces across Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Mr. Netanyahu stated that the Operations Rising Lion and Operation Roaring Lion were launched in response to what he described as imminent threats posed by Iran’s nuclear and missile programmes.
He claimed that Israeli operations, conducted in coordination with the United States, had significantly degraded Iran’s nuclear capabilities and missile infrastructure.
Summarising the outcome of the operations, he asserted that Israel had “crushed” Iran’s nuclear programme and weakened its missile capacity, while also targeting senior military and scientific figures linked to the programme.
The Prime Minister further alleged that Iran had been close to developing nuclear weapons and expanding missile production before the operations, describing these as “existential threats” to Israel’s security.
“And why did we embark on this campaign? Because Iran was very close to achieving nuclear weapons and achieving the capability to produce missiles, thousands upon thousands of missiles. Not a handful of missiles a day that would fall on us, but many hundreds every single day, two existential threats that we were forced to remove from over our heads.” he stated
He also claimed that Israeli forces had carried out extensive strikes on military infrastructure, including nuclear facilities, weapons production sites, and logistical networks.
On the regional front, Netanyahu pointed to continued military pressure on Hamas in Gaza and operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, stating that Israel had established security zones and significantly reduced threats along its borders.
He further indicated that recent developments had led to renewed diplomatic interest from some regional actors, including what he described as initial outreach from Lebanon toward possible peace discussions.
The Israeli leader also highlighted what he described as strengthened strategic cooperation with the United States, noting joint military actions and intelligence coordination during the campaign.
Netanyahu acknowledged that the campaign is ongoing, stating that remaining concerns, including Iran’s enriched nuclear material, would need to be addressed either through diplomatic agreements or further action.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, as the U.S and Iran couldn’t reach a deal to end the war after marathon hours of engagement with Pakistan mediating the consequential war.
