The Ghana High Commission in Canada has announced plans to capture the biometric details of Ghanaian passport applicants in British Columbia as part of an outreach exercise in Vancouver.
Officials of the High Commission in Ottawa will visit Vancouver on Saturday, September 12, 2026, to capture the biometric details of Ghanaian nationals who have completed their online passport applications and submitted their documents to the mission in Ottawa.
According to a public notice issued by the High Commission on August 13, applicants are required to complete the online passport application through the portal, ottawa.mfa.gov.gh, and mail the completed application form together with all supporting documents listed in the application checklist to the High Commission.
The documents must be received by the mission no later than September 8, 2026, at One Clemow Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, K1S 2A9.
The High Commission has stressed that applicants in British Columbia should send their documents to the mission in Ottawa and not to the Consulate-General of Ghana in Toronto.
It also clarified that there will be no paper-based application process at the Vancouver venue. Only applicants who have completed the online application and followed the prescribed procedure will be attended to.
The biometric exercise will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Pentecost, 5814 176A Street, Surrey, British Columbia, V3S 4H5.
The outreach will enable eligible Ghanaian applicants in British Columbia to complete the biometric stage of their passport applications without travelling to Ottawa.
