Ghana’s Embassy in Rome engages Italian hub on technology transfer, investment

Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy, Mona-Helen Kabuki Quartey, has led a delegation to engage TiburTech Hub and its partners on potential areas of cooperation aimed at attracting investment, facilitating technology transfer and supporting sustainable development in Ghana.

The engagement examined possible projects in agriculture and water management, digital healthcare solutions and the digitalisation of trade credit through Nextàmina’s Deedalus platform.

The meeting forms part of the Embassy’s efforts to identify priority projects and assess their technical and investment requirements, with a view to connecting Italian innovation and expertise with Ghana’s development needs.

The discussions come amid broader efforts by Ghana and Italy to deepen cooperation in technology and industrial development. Recent initiatives have covered digital transformation, artificial intelligence, sustainable agriculture, circular economy solutions and vocational training.

In June 2026, the two countries participated in the Ghana–Italy Circular Economy Dialogue in Accra, which explored opportunities for cooperation in green industrial transformation and sustainable production. Italy has also identified agriculture, health, cocoa value chains and digitalisation as areas for further engagement with Ghana under its development cooperation framework.

The Embassy’s engagement with TiburTech Hub and its partners could provide another avenue for translating these broader priorities into practical projects, particularly if the discussions lead to investment commitments, technical partnerships and training opportunities for Ghanaian professionals.

The Embassy has emphasised the importance of combining Italian innovation with Ghanaian opportunities while prioritising local skills development and training.

“A major takeaway was the shared commitment to combining Italian innovation with Ghanaian opportunities, prioritizing local skills development and training: The Embassy stated.
