President Bids Two Envoys Farewell

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Monday bid farewell to two envoys who have completed their duty tours of Ghana. 

The envoys were Mr. Bijan Gerami Nazaksara of Iran, who served for four years, and Hisanobu Mochizuki, Japan’s Ambassador, who has been in the country for three years. 

They both received a carved stool and a souvenir when they met the President at separate occasions at the Jubilee House, Accra. 

President Akufo-Addo thanked them for strengthening ties between their countries and Ghana. 

He reiterated Ghana’s support for Iran and promised to advocate against U.S. sanctions. 

The President also hoped that Iran and Israel could resolve their recent misunderstandings through the United Nations, emphasisng the importance of regional and global stability.

Regarding Japan, the President highlighted the strong relationship between the two nations and appreciated Japan’s support for Ghana during its tenure on the Security Council. 

Ambassador Nazaksara emphasized the challenges posed by U.S. economic sanctions on Iran’s international relations and the importance of private sector partnerships between Iran and Ghana. 

Ambassador Mochizuki reflected on his time in Ghana, describing the country as a beacon of hope for democratic development in Africa. 

He expressed the hope that the upcoming elections in December would further solidify peace and stability in Ghana and the surrounding region.
