Danish Ambassador Says Bye To Ghana

Denmark-and-GhanaMs Margit Thomsen, Danish Ambassador to Ghana, has paid a courtesy call on Nana Oye Lithur, the Minister of Gender, Child and Social Protection, to formally bid her farewell as she ends her two-year duty tour.

Ms Thomsen said Ghana and Denmark had had good economic development relationship and promised her country’s continued support to Ghana.

The Ambassador, who presented a report on a study she conducted on the women of Wa, said women were very important and must be granted equal rights to take up opportunities to develop themselves.

She described women as economic assets that ensured rapid development of a country, and called for more support and opportunities for them.

Nana Oye Lithur expressed her gratitude to the outgoing Ambassador for her contributions towards women and children’s empowerment initiatives over the years.

She expressed appreciation for her support in promoting gender equality and gender mainstreaming, saying that Ghana looked forward to fruitful future collaborations with Denmark.
