Ghana and Israel have maintained diplomatic relations since 1956, making Ghana one of the first countries in sub-Saharan Africa to establish formal ties with the State of Israel. Over the decades, the partnership has evolved to encompass cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, education, science and technology, water resource management, security, entrepreneurship and capacity building, reflecting a shared commitment to development and innovation.

A key pillar of the relationship has been Israel’s international development cooperation agency, MASHAV, which has provided training and technical assistance to thousands of Ghanaian professionals in areas including agriculture, public health, education, entrepreneurship, innovation and disaster management. The programme has contributed to institutional capacity building and strengthened people-to-people relations between the two countries.

Reflecting on the conclusion of his diplomatic assignment, Avraham expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Ghana for their friendship, cooperation and support throughout his tenure.
