The Embassy of Ghana in Spain has initiated discussions with German investment consultancy firm Adminex Global Solutions to explore opportunities for attracting foreign investment into Ghana and strengthening the country’s position as a preferred business destination.
The engagement took place in Madrid, where Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, met representatives of Adminex Global Solutions. The development was announced by the Embassy of Ghana as part of its ongoing economic diplomacy activities.
The meeting reflects Ghana’s growing emphasis on economic diplomacy, which seeks to leverage diplomatic missions to promote trade, attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and create business opportunities abroad. In recent years, Ghana’s foreign missions have increasingly prioritised investment promotion alongside traditional diplomatic functions in support of the government’s economic transformation agenda.
Discussions centred on promoting Ghana as a competitive investment destination, with particular attention to creating opportunities for international investors and businesses seeking to expand into West Africa.
Adminex Global Solutions, a German company that specialises in supporting the international expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Embassy in positioning Ghana as a preferred destination for investment and business.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) form the backbone of Ghana’s private sector, accounting for about 92% of businesses, contributing roughly 70% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and providing around 85 per cent of manufacturing employment, according to the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Enterprises Agency. A partnership with a firm specialising in helping SMEs expand internationally could therefore create possible new opportunities for Ghanaian businesses to access European markets, attract investment and strengthen their competitiveness.
Ambassador Baffoe welcomed the company’s interest in Ghana and commended its commitment to partnering with the Embassy to attract investment and strengthen economic ties.
The Embassy noted that the engagement forms part of its broader efforts to deepen Ghana–Spain economic relations while fostering partnerships with European businesses capable of contributing to Ghana’s sustainable development through investment, technology transfer and enterprise growth.
