The Ghana Red Cross Society, as part of its humanitarian services, has donated assorted drugs valued at GH¢30, 000.00 to the Circle Branch of the Iran Clinic to help provide free medical care to the vulnerable.
The medicines, which include antibiotics, painkillers, and anti-malaria tablets, were received by Dr Masoud Maleki Birjaudi, the Medical Director of the Clinic.
The Red Cross made the donation in collaboration with the Iran Group International.
Dr Michael Agyekum Addo, the President of the Ghana Red Cross Society, said the society had made it mandatory to support disaster victims and the vulnerable in society through donations.
The President said the Iran Clinic would not be the only medical facility to benefit from such a gesture.
“Even though the disaster happened in a day, we, the Red Cross believes that there are people out there still suffering because of the disaster, hence our readiness to support people affected by it especially the vulnerable,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of Dr Birjaudi, Sheik Omid, an Administrator of Iran Clinic, said the Iran Group International provided humanitarian services to the society and the world at large.
Sheik Omid entreated other organisations to support the vulnerable in society.
