President Mahama Leaves for EU- Africa Summit

President John Dramani Mahama left Accra yesterday to Brussels, Belgium, to attend the Fourth EU-Africa Summit.

The summit, which runs from April 2 to April 3, 2014, is on the theme: “Investing in People, Prosperity and Peace”.

Participants are expected to discuss issues relating to fostering human capital development through education and training, as well as sustainable and inclusive growth to ensure socio-economic development.

The EU will be represented by Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the EU Council and Mr Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the EU Commission.

President Mahama was seen off at the airport by Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, the Chief of Staff, Mr. Douglas Bani, Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister of the Interior and some service personnel.
