The Media Zone Authority in Abu Dhabi has announced that the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi Media Summit will be held from 5-7 April, 2016. Powered by twofour54, the topics and the agenda for the Summit as well as key speakers of the event would be announced in the coming period and will be in line with the vision of twofour54 in promoting Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading hub in the global media industry.
Under the theme of “Driving and Sustaining Future Media in MENA and Beyond”, the last edition of ADMS, held in November 2014, successfully attracted over 1300 local, regional, and international attendees. The 2014 Summit hosted Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and key media representatives and industry leaders.
The Abu Dhabi Media Summit is one of the biggest events that gather leading global media companies and will be held once every two years to host a number of media industry leaders to build on Abu Dhabi’s position as a centre of innovation in the Arab world.
The Media Zone Authority-Abu Dhabi was established in 2007 with a mandate to support and sustain the development of Arab-focused media and digital creative businesses, positioning Abu Dhabi as a regional centre of excellence across all media platforms.
To achieve this, the Media Zone Authority is creating and sustaining a media and digital creative hub in Abu Dhabi, with clear strategies and initiatives to develop UAE nationals into media industry professionals. It encourages foreign direct investment through 100% non-UAE business ownership, has a world class entrepreneurially friendly company regulatory structure creating private sector jobs, and drives the development of the region’s media and entertainment industry through its clear content regulatory environment which is unique in the region.
The Media Zone Authority supports industry-building initiatives such as the Abu Dhabi Media Summit and Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s 30% cashback incentive scheme.
