Vietnamese Trade Mission To Visit Ghana

investments-in-GhanaThe first Vietnamese Trade Mission to Ghana would arrive in the country for a two-day visit from the June 15-June 16 to explore business opportunities.

The trade mission is being organised by Ghana-Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and Association of Ghanaian Industries (AGI).

Mr Freeman G. Asiama, Coordinator of Vietnamese Trade Mission to Ghana, said the delegation is seeking investment in various sectors in the country, including agriculture development, aquaculture development, and internet technology.

Other areas are education, chemistry and fertiliser, construction material, household appliances and Electronic and power equipment.

“This visit will strengthen… cooperation between the two countries and provide the Vietnamese companies the opportunity to establish ties with Ghanaian businesses in order to explore possible partnerships in each of the sectors they represent,” he said.

A statement issued in Accra said whilst in the country, the mission, which is led by the Vietnam Ambassador Mr Hoang Ngoc Ho, would pay courtesy calls on officials of some ministries and agencies of government, including Ministries of Trade and industry, Power, Petroleum, Food and Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Ghana Investment promotion Centre.

The multi-sector delegation consisting of 14 companies would also take part in a day’s business conference to meet with their counterparts from AGI, GCCI and other private sector operators in Ghana.

The volume of trade between Ghana and Vietnam in 2014 was $ 250 million.
